I think he is not disparaging the US army. Merely pointing out that total air superiority, night vision gear and unmatched command and controll structure while fighting some of the most poor uneducated people in the world is not a good example of chivalric dueling. Though obviosly the right thing to do - save your own first, leave the fairness out of war.

Well I think trustworthiness is a neccesarry condition to being honorable. (But not a sufficent one.) So they are not "totally separate" in my eyes.
Quick check with wiki (i know, i know) it seems i am not the only one to think so:
"Honour or Honor (see spelling differences), (from the Latin word honos, honoris) is the evaluation of a person's trustworthiness and social status based on that individual's espousals and actions."
